Jenny Wilson Announces Labor Endorsement List
I could not be prouder to be supported by labor in the Salt Lake County Mayor’s race! Not only am I the only candidate endorsed by the Utah AFL-CIO and “Central Fed” the umbrella for local international labor unions, but several additional unions including AFSCME Local 1004, representing many Salt Lake County employees.
Additionally, I am supported and endorsed by my friend, Senator Karen Mayne, Labor’s champion at our Utah State Legislature and Vice President of the AFL-CIO as well as Dale Cox, former President of the AFL-CIO and member of the Murray City Council.
The Central Utah Federation of Labor (umbrella for local International Labor Unions)
AFSCME Local 1004 (the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees)
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 354
Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3
Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters Utah
UA Local 140 – Plumbers and Pipefitters
Here’s what Labor Leaders are saying…
“Jenny has always been responsive to the citizens of Salt Lake County and our working families. Working shoulder to shoulder on many programs and projects in our county, I have first-hand respect for her leadership. Salt Lake County has the responsibility and advantage of leading our state into the future. Our working families need strong leadership, I know it will be in good hands with Jenny.” – Senator Karen Mayne, Vice President of Utah AFL-CIO
“When labor decided to back Jenny Wilson for Salt Lake County Mayor it came from years of relationship building between her and the working families of Utah. Jenny has consistently shown leadership on the issues that matter to those who get up every day and ask for nothing more than their fair share of the American dream. I am proud of the work she does on behalf of working families and look forward to her leadership over this great County.” – Brandon Dew, Salt Lake County Labor Caucus Chair, President of Central Utah Federation of Labor and District Rep. Operating Engineers Local No. 3
“Jenny has always fought for County employees. She understands the importance of competitive wages and benefits and has always been more than responsive to Salt Lake County employees. For that reason, AFSCME strongly supports and endorses her.” – Michael Tuttle, Executive Director, The American Federation of State, County, Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1004
I am honored to have received this support and will continue to represent the working people of Salt Lake County.
